Tawny Kitaen

Julie Ellen "Tawny" Kitaen (August 5, 1961 - May 7, 2021) was an American model, actress and media persona. She started her career as a television actor, acting in the TV films Malibu (1983), California Girls (1985). Also, she starred in Gwendoline, a comedy character in the Land of the Yik-Yak (both 1984) and Bachelor Party (1985). Kitaen was a popular choice for her performances in a number of heavy metal music videos. Some of them include Ratt's "Back for More" (1984) and Whitesnake's "Still of the Night", "Is This Love" and "Here I Go Again" (all 1987).In the early 2000s, Kitaen transitioned into appearing in reality-TV shows, including The Surreal Life (2006) and Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) The latter of which focused on Kitaen's problems with substance abuse. Kitaen was born Julie Kitaen in San Diego, California in 1961, the oldest of three children born to Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) an housewife and one-time beauty pageant contestant, as well as Terry Kitaen, an employee of a neon signage company. Kitaen's mother, who was of Irish as well as Scottish descent was married to Terry Kitaen (an employee of a neon sign manufacturer). Her father was Russian Jewish. [3It is believed that Kitaen was raised in the Jewish religion. In the year of 12, she began to utilize the nickname "Tawny", which she came up with on her own. She struggled with dyslexia as a child and dropped out of Mission Bay High School. 7.
